Did Someone Say Exercise

It can be difficult to restart a habit after slipping away from it. But it's not impossible. Let's take a look at some ways you can get back into a workout routine after a pregnancy hiatus.

First, you want to start slow. Although you might have worked your way up to a two-mile run before you became pregnant, you've been out of the game for a while. Plus, you had a baby.

Take it slow and build your endurance back up to where it used to be.

Second, you want to make working out a habit again. As a result, even a little bit of exercise can go a long way.

By taking even 20 minutes out of your day for a workout, you are making daily exercise a habit. Go a little longer each time you work out. Before you know it, you will be back up to your hour–long exercise routine!

Finally, don't think the gym is the only place you can go for a workout, especially if you do not feel comfortable leaving your baby in a gym's daycare. A "gym" is wherever you want it to be! Choose an activity you enjoy and pick the scenery of your choice.

If running miles on the treadmill isn't your speed, take your walk/run outside to take in the beauty of a Tennessee early evening or morning. If you hate running, swim laps at the local pool. Love yoga? You don't have to do it indoors. Take your mat to a park and get your yoga on!
